A word from the president

«The Network of North African Female Leaders (RFLM), materialises the ambition of Maghrebian leaders to enhance their contribution to public life and local development and to create a dynamic collaboration and dialogue between public and private actors of the civil society and the cities of the Maghreb countries. This ambition was echoed by the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) and more particularly by the City of Tunis and the City of Namur. The AIMF has thus actively supported the constitution of the Network. Today, the members of our network are firmly committed to actively promote “respectful cohabitation”, at the country level, individually, but also throughout the Maghreb. Our actions will be oriented to favour the inclusion of women and young people, by facilitating the mobility and networking needed for their economic inclusion, and access to health services, to education as well as to culture. Our actions also aim to enable cities to effectively and serenely engage in dialogue with citizens and public action, taking into account climate challenges and the attributes of sustainable development, and making available technological innovation to achieve these objectives. It is by laying the foundations for a friendly, fruitful, innovative and respectful collaboration, as women who know how to do, that our network will demonstrate, once again, the stakes of the integration of the Maghreb region.»
